Cypress Announced as a California Business for Education Excellence Award Recipient

April 2011:  Cypress is proud to be recognized by California’s business community as an Honor Roll school.  Our staff works tirelessly to keep the focus on high expectations and student academic achievement and to continuously improving our practices. This hard work and dedication is paying off for all of our students, no matter their background.

The Honor Roll is the premier school recognition program in California that uses hard data, individual school and student subgroup performance data based on the California Standards Tests and the California High School Exit Exam, to evaluate school academic performance over time. Schools that reach the Honor Roll have met a rigorous standard of increasing and sustaining grade level proficiency over four years and closing achievement gaps when they exist.  These schools are bright spots in our public education system from whom others should learn best practices peer-to-peer.  More can be found at http://www.cbeefoundation.org/honor_roll.html

In addition, Cypress received "Star"distinction, 1 of only 477 schools to do so.

Cypress Receives 2011 California State Title I Academic Achievement Award

Cypress has been notified that we have received the California State Title I Academic Achievement Award.  Of the 6000 plus schools in the state receiving Title I funds, only 209 schools received the award this year.  We are extremely honored to have earned this award based on our student performance using various federal and state accountability measures.  Cypress could not have achieved this award without the hard work from our great Cyclone Staff, Cyclone Students and Cyclone Families.  Receiving this award a year after being named a California Distinguished School is a great accomplishment.  Thank you to all who make Cypress a great school!
